Under the supervision of Dr. Ramadhan H. Sulaiman, Professor at the Petroleum Engineering Department, the 2nd stage students at the Petroleum Engineering Department paid a visit to the Duhok Province area for the purpose of conducting scientific fieldwork on Sunday, October 23, 2022. The trip aimed at introducing certain geological formations to students and training them the process of describing the characteristics, lithology, and deposition of these formations. Additionally, the students were shown the process of evaluating the formation properties. abilities and capacity of each formation to be expected to be a reservoir.
Notably, field trips will equip petroleum engineers with the ability to illustrate the origin, formation, migration, accumulation, and dissipation of petroleum. Furthermore, they train them to take samples, data, and other information, in addition to making an accurate analysis of the collected data.
